For most customers,
computer access is controlled because the computer is
safely in their private office or home. However, if you
are using a computer at work, make sure to logoff of
your Online Banking session before leaving your desk,
and always be sure that others are not watching you enter
information on the keyboard. You may also consider using
a computer security product, such as a password protected
screen saver or other security products, if you travel
frequently with a laptop computer or have information
where others can easily access it.
Customer System Requirements
UmbrellaBank recommends the following system components
while utilizing our Online Banking system:
- Internet access through an
Internet Service Provider (such as AOL or CompuServe)
- A PC with at least a 486 processor.
Macintosh computers will also work.
- A modem that communicates at
least 28.8 Kbps. For optimal graphics and data transmission,
you should use the fastest modem your computer and
Internet Service Provider can support.
- An Internet browser that supports 128-bit
SSL encryption.
128-Bit Browsers
To ensure secure communications, UmbrellaBank requires
our customers to use Internet Browsers that support 128-bit
encryption. 128-bit browsers support Secure Socket Layer
(SSL) protocol, which allows you to securely send and
receive encrypted data over the Internet.
In general, browsers that support SSL protocol include:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or above
- Netscape Navigator 4.7 or above
- AOL 5.0 or above
